	Dr Koren Barrett provides integrative medical care at two locations in Orange County. Integrative medicine is a discipline that combines the best of both mainstream and natural therapies in one practice.

She utilizes a variety of therapeutics including dietary and lifestyle counseling, herbal medicine, nutritional supplementation, and incorporating pharmaceutical prescriptions when needed. She has a wide breadth of expertise and knowledge to assist her patients in health and healing. In conjunction with clinical experience she utilizes comprehensive laboratory evaluations to assist in understanding the underlying cause of the symptoms of her patients.

Dr Barrett offers integrative medicine for the entire family. She cares for patients ranging in age from several days to elderly.

Dr Barrett provides nutritional and lifestyle counseling for a variety of conditions including weight management, diabetes, insulin resistance, high cholesterol, and heart disease. She cares for patients with fatigue, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, depression, anxiety, high blood pressure, weight gain, headaches, hypothyroidism, Low thyroid, osteoporosis and many other conditions.

Dr Barrett provides many services for women including annual exams, pap smears, and breast exams. She educates and assists patients with family planning including; natural family planning, barrier methods (including diaphragm fittings) and hormonal birth control. Dr Barrett offers natural treatments for the symptoms of peri-menopause and menopause. Dr Barrett discusses options for women with mild abnormal pap smears including escharotic treatment (a “microdermabrasion” for the cervix). She has treated many women with vaginitis including those with difficult to treat cases.

Dr Barrett has a special interest in bio-identical hormone therapy helping women achieve optimal hormonal balance. She has mentored with many leaders in the field. Dr Barrett provides patients with a comprehensive evaluation of their hormonal status, discusses treatment options and implements safety measures individually based on patient lab results and history.

Dr Barrett offers a breast health program. This is a program for women who are breast cancer survivors, have a strong family history of breast cancer or who are currently undergoing conventional treatment for breast cancer. She provides testing and analysis of nutritional imbalances and advises on nutritional supplementation for correction. She also discusses other modifiable risk factors including environmental, lifestyle and dietary concerns.

Dr Barrett assists women interested in preconception care (creating an optimal environment for conception and pregnancy). This is a program for women who are not having challenges conceiving and for those who are having difficulty with infertility. A preconception care program is implemented during the 4 moths leading up to conception. The purpose of this program is to provide all the nutrients necessary for optimal hormonal cycling, conception and pregnancy. Herbs, dietary recommendations and lifestyle considerations are also discussed. The program is individualized for each patient according to history and laboratory testing. It is also applicable for those suffering from infertility as a first line therapy or in adjunct to mainstream infertility treatments.

Dr Barrett offers well-child visits. This includes routine, school and sports physicals. Dr Barrett has an integrative program for pediatric routine check-ups including a comprehensive physical exam, analysis of developmental landmarks and a parent kit complete with handouts giving parents sound guidance correlating with their child’s age. Dr Barrett provides information to families about vaccines, assisting them in making an informed choice. She then offers guidance as to what parents need to know if their child is or is not vaccinated. Dr Barrett discusses with families food introduction in the first year of life, nutrition and food choices for children. She also cares for children with ADD/ADHD, colds/flues, and routine childhood illnesses.

Dr Barrett is a Defeat Autism Now! doctor and has cared for hundreds of children with special needs. She implements the Defeat Autism Now! biomedical approach including education and testing for food allergies, correction of diarrhea and constipation, eradication of yeast, abnormal bacteria and parasites, analysis of detoxification including methylation support and testing and correction of nutritional deficiencies and inflammation. Her goal is to work with families at their pace and always treats every child as an individual.
